Lecco: Orsa Maggiore Beach Club
Located right on the water in Lecco, Orsa Maggiore is one of the best all-around spots for a hassle-free day by the lake. With sun loungers starting at €25 for two, umbrella rentals, and clear lake access, it gives you a comfortable beach club setup framed by incredible mountain views.
It offers one of the best spaces to go swimming on the lake. Unlike many steep or rocky entry points around Lake Como, Orsa Maggiore features a smooth, gradual entry directly into the water, making it ideal for a relaxed swim. The water is clean and gets deep quite quickly, so you aren’t stuck walking over uncomfortable stones for ages. In fact, you can easily go without water shoes and be totally fine, unlike many other lidos across Lake Como where you’ll need rock shoes.
Key Details & Amenities
Renting two sunbeds and an umbrella costs €25, which is a fantastic price for a full day on Lake Como. The lido is open seven days a week from 09:30 to 19:00, making it easy to fit into any day on the lake. On-site facilities include toilets, outdoor showers, a beach bar for drinks and snacks, and a pizza restaurant. For those looking for more activity, the lido also offers water sports, including wakeboarding right from the shore.
Getting There & Logistics
Driving is the easiest way to reach Orsa Maggiore, as there is a large car park located directly outside the lido entrance. If you are arriving by train, the beach club is located 3.4 km from Lecco train station. From the station, you can take a scenic 30 to 40-minute walk along the lakefront path. Make sure you bring suncream and a hat as this walk is entirely in the sun, so it’s very hot and exposed.
