Deus Café: The Ultimate Weekend Brunch in Milan

Best Industrial Style Dining in Milan

I have been here twice now, once in the colder months and once during the height of summer, and both experiences were top-tier. The interior is industrial and edgy with a very Milan feel. It is the kind of place where you get the sense that something is always happening and you are right in the thick of it.

Why This Hidden Green Courtyard is a Local Favourite

While the inside is great, the courtyard is the real star of the show. It is a beautiful and lush green space that is absolutely packed with plants and trees. They have clearly thought of everything to keep the place comfortable regardless of the weather. In the summer they have ceiling fans to keep the courtyard cool and in the winter they use heaters to keep it all cosy. It means you can basically enjoy that outdoor atmosphere all year round without any of the usual fuss.

What to Order for Brunch

The menu is massive and covers everything from croissants and French toast to burgers and a big selection of egg dishes. My first choice was the Club Sandwich and it was a total shout. If you show up hungry then this is definitely the one to go for as it is a generous portion.

On my second visit I tried the Caesar Salad and chips. It was really good but I was still hungry after. I’ll be honest and say I preferred the club sandwich. However, it really just depends on how hungry you are on the day.

Weekend Brunch Hours and Planning Your Visit

Unlike some places that have a cut of time of 2pm, Deus is built for the late risers. One thing to keep in mind is that they only serve the specific brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays.

The kitchen for brunch runs from noon until 5 PM. It is the perfect spot if you want a lazy and late afternoon meal. Check our their menu [Deus Cafè]

Plan the Perfect Day in Isola Milan

You would be mad to head home straight after your brunch when you are already in one of the coolest parts of the city. If you want to do the neighbourhood properly then you need to take a five minute stroll over to Bar Frida once you have finished your meal.

It is my absolute favourite spot for an aperitivo under the ivy in their courtyard and it is the only proper way to transition from a lazy afternoon into the evening. If you want the authentic Isola experience then making a stop here is a total non-negotiable. Don’t just take my word for it, get over there and see the courtyard for yourself [Bar Frida Milan].
