Best Sunset in Turin: Aperitivo with an Alps View at Cheers Bistrot

The atmosphere here is relaxed and friendly, making it a brilliant place to settle in as the sun starts to drop. It is the kind of spot where you can just sit back, enjoy a drink, and watch the city change colours without any of the usual city centre madness.

A Proper Hillside Aperitivo with a Spicy Twist

As for the food, they do a proper and generous aperitivo. We got a great spread of cold meats, local cheeses, and fried snacks that hit the spot. We also ended up adding a portion of jalapeño poppers, which are a firm favourite of mine. They give you a nice spicy kick to go with your drinks and are the perfect addition if you are planning to stay for more than just the one round.

The Best Way to Experience Superga and the Grande Torino Memorial

If you want to get the most out of your trip up the hill, you are much better off visiting the sights first and then settling in for the evening. I suggest starting at the Basilica di Superga and then taking the short walk around the back to find the memorial for the Grande Torino football team. It is a powerful and sombre spot that commemorates the tragic plane crash of 1949 where thirty-one people lost their lives. Visiting this site first allows you to pay your respects and soak in the history of the area.

Once you have explored the grounds of the Basilica, you can make the quick stroll over to [Cheers Bistrot Superga]. By timing it this way, you can secure a table just as the golden hour starts to kick in. There is nothing quite like sitting back with a cold drink and watching the sun dip behind the Alps.
