The Best Coastal Sunset in Sicily: Belvedere Macari
When you’re driving away from the crystal-clear waters of San Vito Lo Capo, most people are focused on getting to their next destination. But if you’re looking for a hidden gem view that actually lives up to the hype, you need to pull over just before sunset. Located just a short drive from the town centre, Belvedere Macari offers a panoramic look at the rugged Sicilian coastline that feels completely untouched.
Why it’s a Hidden Gem
While the beach at San Vito Lo Capo can get packed in the summer, this viewpoint stays relatively quiet. It’s a simple pull-off on the side of the road, but the perspective it gives you over the sea cliffs and Monte Cofano is unmatched.
How to Find It
Don’t rely on road signs for this one. To find the exact spot where we watched the sunset, put these coordinates into your Google Maps:
📍Belvedere Macari Bue Marino Vista Monte Cofano
There is a small area to park your car safely off the main road. I recommend arriving about 20 minutes before sunset to see the light change over the cliffs. It’s one of those rare moments in Sicily where everything feels still.
